Group Coaching – Part 1: How to Serve More Clients More Effectively… and Earn More 💸

In the recent months, many reached out to me recently, asking about my Group Coaching programs and how do I structure them… So, we’ll switch directions a little, for a few weeks, and explore how you too can serve more clients more effectively with Group Coaching 💡

Now, of course, not everyone is a fan of Group Coaching, but lucky for you – or not so lucky, if you dislike my superpowers – I’m a bit of a psychic (JK 😏) and I know what you are thinking:

WHAT!!!??? Serving clients “more effectively” through Group Coaching? That’s insane! But at minimum, super-silly 🤪.
Group coaching disallows you to give each client 100% and it’s a win-lose set up: the coach makes a ton of money, but the client loses in the process.

And of course, there’s the other flip-side of the coin, as some will react with:

Oh YEY!!! I’ve always wanted to put on Group Coaching Programs – this is soo cool, I hope it’ll provide me some info to help me put on my first event (or a more effective 2nd or 3rd event)…

Ok, let’s dissect this a little and explore how Group Coaching can be an amazingly effective way at serving Health & Wellness (or any coaching) Clients…

What is Group Coaching?

… for those who might not be familiar with it.

Group coaching is a form of coaching where a coach works with a small group of individuals – usually 3 to 10; though, some coaches work with groups of dozens or even 100+ participants – with the purpose to help participants achieve their goals or solve specific problems. The coach facilitates the group process and creates a supportive and collaborative environment for participants to share their experiences and learn from each other.

The sessions of a group coaching program can be set up in various ways – many create a clear structure that helps participants gradually move towards their goals or towards resolving a challenge. During the sessions, the coach facilitates the flow of discussion, provides guidance, feedback, and support to participants.

Group coaching can be delivered in person, online through video or audio conferencing, or over the phone.  Though, not so common in the past, these days some group coaching programs are combined with an online learning component, where participants can complete instructional or informational modules on a learning platform.

An addition to how many of us think of group coaching – coaching individual clients in group settings – many coaches also deliver Group Coaching in organizational settings to help employees develop new skills and achieve specific goals.  Many specialize in serving exclusively these types of clients since one client, or rather one organization, can provide you instantly with at least one group, and often with multiple groups who you can serve for months or years. And the other great news about this: most organizations have a budget set aside for such programs*.

*  – if you are considering delivering group coaching programs, workshops, or keynotes to corporate clients, send me a message and I’ll be glad to share with you some best-practices on how to approach organizations… will even share with you some of my proposals that landed me corporate and government group coaching clients.

Why Should You Consider Including Group Coaching in Your Practice?

In the next post I’ll give you at least 10 reasons why you should include Group Coaching in your practice, but for now let me share with you my two top reasons:

1. Many can’t afford paying for one-on-one coaching, and Group Coaching allows those who otherwise would not hire you, to join your programs, helping you serve the world at a “next level.”

2. Higher earning potential for the coach – for you. For example, if your one-on-one coaching costs $950 per month, that can feel like a fortune to some; but will gladly join a $195 or $295 group coaching program, be that a monthly fee* or a 6-weeks program, for example.  If you get 10 participants at $195.00, you instantly more than doubled your rate, as now for the same time-investment on your part, you’ll earn $1950.00… and many of us lead several such groups concurrently (and charge $295.00 to $1500.00 or even more, depending on the lenght and topic of the program).* We’ll talk about how to price your coaching programs and what lengths should your programs be in a future post

When you coach on a topic where your expertise is needed, such as Health, Wellness, Nutrition (or any other niched topics, such as marketing, public speaking, relationship & communication, etc.), in one-on-one coaching the client benefits only from your expertise – the “wisdom-flow” is limited only to what the two of you know.  In group coaching programs, however, the synergy of the group allows for information flow from multiple minds.

Throughout the years I’ve been part of group coaching programs (and in-person bootcamps) as a participant, and each time I enjoyed it tremendously, and walked away not only with some great new skills or new attitude towards business or life, but also with several new (often life-long) friendships.and

As mentioned in the previous section, if you break into the corporate world (or other organizations: non-profits, government, religious organizations, etc.), the potential is there to generate an ongoing consistent high income.

Make a Larger Impact with Your Coaching

If you are committed to making a positive impact in the world, group coaching is the vehicle that can provide a valuable opportunity for you to reach a wider audience, generate more revenue, collaborate with other professionals, enhance your coaching skills, and grow your business to levels you might otherwise never reach. One-on-one coaching is one of the most fulfilling ways to serve the world and generate an income, but our time is limited. Group coaching helps addressing these short-comings of individual coaching and allows room for scaling (once you become too busy, you can also train other coaches to lead your group coaching programs, further leveraging your time – the potentials are unlimited).

I hope the ideas above got your wheels spinning and you’ll consider putting on Group Coaching programs in the future.

If you want support in creating your programs, consider joining me during my Open Office Hours – usually on Tuesdays at 12:00 pm EST (New York). If you’d like to be notified of these events, hop over to www.ClientsEnrollmentMastery.com .

I’ll see you in the next post where we’ll explore at least 10 more benefits of Group Coaching programs 💖💹
